WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Students 1st - 12th Grades may participate in the fall with no prior musical experience needed!
All levels of musical experience are welcome!
WHAT CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE?
Foundations class for 1st-4th grades
Beginning and intermediate band level classes are available for 4th-12th grades.
Choir class for grades K-12. (children who are not yet reading will need extra assistance from parents)
•Our program is taught under the supervision of a Spring Arbor University music professor and by talented music education students from the college.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PARTICIPATE AND WHAT DOES IT INCLUDE?
The cost to participate is $50 for the first student or $75 per family, per course, per semester.
PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR INSTRUMENT COST OR RENTAL. ALSO, REEDS, OILS ETC...
Any additional costs are covered by fundraisers or an optional opt out fee.
~ Books/music are provided free of charge
~ Instrument rentals available at the unbeatable price of $5 per month
~ Private lessons available at low rate of $10 per 30 minute session
~ Scholarships available if needed
~ Performances in 2 band concerts on-stage at Spring Arbor University
- Solo performance opportunities - Program Sponsored Solo and Ensemble and Presentation Night at the end of the school year.
WHERE ARE THE CLASSES AND PRIVATE LESSONS HELD?
Group and private lessons take place at Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, MI.
WHEN DO THE CLASSES TAKE PLACE?
Classes take place every Tuesday.

2:00-3:00 INTERMEDIATE BAND
3:10 PARENT ROOM AVAILABLE
3:15-4:30 COMBINED BANDS
Private instrument lessons are optional and scheduled by each family with student instructors.
Please make every effort to be punctual and prepared for weekly rehearsal. Each band student should have their instrument set to play and be in their seat by class start time.
WHAT IS FOUNDATIONS?
IN AN EFFORT TO BETTER SERVE OUR MUSIC FAMILIES WE ARE OFFERING A CLASS THAT IS GEARED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF 1ST – 4TH GRADE STUDENTS. THIS IS THE SAME QUALITY PROGRAM AT A PACE AND INSTRUMENTATION THAT IS GEARED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THESE YOUNGER CHILDREN. WITH NO REEDS TO BREAK, COOL RHYTHM INSTRUMENTS, CHORAL TRAINING AND A GREAT PREPARATION FOR MORE ADVANCED LEVELS, WE BELIEVE THIS IS A WIN ALL AROUND!
THIS WILL COVER RHYTHM, RECORDER, VOCAL AND FOUNDATIONAL MUSIC THEORY.
HOW DO WE COMMUNICATE?
A NEWSLETTER WILL BE SENT OUT BY EMAIL EVERY MONTH TO ENSURE EVERYONE IS UP TO DATE.
COMMUNICATION WILL BE MADE WEEKLY THROUGH OUR FACEBOOK GROUP PAGE. IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE LINKING YOUR FACEBOOK NOTIFICATIONS TO YOUR EMAIL SEE A BOARD MEMBER.
